Application via University of Koblenz

General information:

The following applicants are eligible for the university portal application:

Applicants who have

  • been checked by uni-assist (for another university) in the past and obtained a uni-assist evaluation report
  • a German degree
  • completed a Studienkolleg in Germany

If you are eligible, you can apply through the application portal of the University of Koblenz.

After completing your application in the University of Koblenz application portal, send officially notarised copies of your documents (see list below) by post to the following address:

Documents for the University Portal application:
All applicants need to submit the following documents (in English or German):

General documents:

  • signed application for enrolment printed from the portal

  • school leaving certificate - diploma with an overview of subjects and grades

  • university entrance examination certificate (only for countries where it is required for admission to a program of study)

  • university certificates (if you have already studied) - diploma and transcript of records with an overview of subjects and grades

  • Bachelor thesis, final project report or a major scientific paper (for M.Sc. Web & Data Science application only): has to be sent by email to the Registrar’s Office

  • language certificates for German or English *

  • APS certificate (for applications from China, Mongolia, Vietnam and India)

  • officially certified translations of the above documents if they have not been issued in English or German
  • passport copy (uncertified copy is sufficient)
  • motivational letter

Additionally, if the applicants have already passed the uni-assist exam:

Applicants who have already been studying at a German university submit additionally:

  • clearance certificate that no exam has been finally failed (Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung); this document can be issued by the examination office of the former university upon request
  • most recent transcript of records
  • application for recognition (Antrag auf Anerkennung), form available at our Registrar’s Office upon request

Only officially notarised copies of the documents (by the Embassy or sworn notary) are accepted! The notarised documents need to have an original official seal and an original signature of the certifying person.

You will not get an admission automatically. After submission applications undergo internal review by the examination committee and you will receive an admission decision by the Regristrar's Office in due course.

The payment of the social contribution fee and the health insurance notification can be completed at a later stage, once your admission is confirmed.

Apply as early as possible!

We strongly encourage international students, especially non-EU applicants who need a visa, to apply as early as possible due to visa processing times and requirements, which can add up to five months and more.
Please also take into consideration the mailing time for your documents to the University in Koblenz.
Furthermore, the applications have to be reviewed by the respective department at the University of Koblenz. Early applications help ensure timely arrival and successful enrollment.
