The department "Developmental Psychology and Psychological Diagnostics" deals in teaching and research with topics of developmental psychology of the life span as well as with the basics and methods of psychological diagnostics in different fields of application.

Educational Psychology and Applied Developmental Psychology

The department "Social and Organizational Psychology" complements the basics of social psychology with the specific area of organizational psychology. It is headed by Prof. Dr. Diana Hanke-Boer.

In addition, special topics such as leadership and employee health, environmental threats in an intercultural context, and beliefs in conspiracy theories are covered.

The department "Educational Psychology and Empirical Research Methods" was founded in April 2021 with the filling of the junior professorship for Educational Psychology and Empirical Research Methods at the Institute of Psychology. Research will focus on the topics "Development of academic self-concepts" and "Digitization of teaching and learning environments". The Emmy Noether Group "COMPASS", established in 2022, is of particular importance. In teaching, the department participates in particular in Module 6 (Data Quality and Statistics) in the basic subject Psychology of the two-subject Bachelor's degree and in Module 3 (Diagnostics, Heterogeneity, Differentiation and Inclusion) in the Bachelor of Education Educational Sciences (together with the departments "Developmental Psychology and Psychological Diagnostics", "Educational Psychology and Applied Developmental Psychology" and the Institute of Sociology).
