Theorising the relationship between inclusion and boundaries

As part of the Centre for Inclusion Research Berlin, I was able to contribute to an edited volume that has now been published. I am also involved with my own contribution (together with Nadja Körner). The volume is here available in Open Access.

"Inclusion is an ambiguous social, political and educational term that is increasingly being understood as an analytical category by a variety of disciplines. The contributors expand this theorising approach and focus on the relationship between inclusion and boundaries. From an interdisciplinary perspective, they show that borders and boundaries are not only intrinsic to the subject of inclusion, but that inclusion itself shifts the logics and boundaries of disciplinary discourses - which allows for a new perspective on questions of political participation, reciprocal relationships of recognition and acknowledgement and pedagogical imperatives."
