Dr. Paul Scifleet is a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems with the Department of Business Technology and Entrepreneurship at the Swinburne University of Technology and Co-Director of the Information Systems for Social Impact (IS4SI) Research Group. He is a Chief Investigator with the Australian Research Council’s, the Center for Information Resilience (CIRES), and an International Research Fellow with the Centre for Enterprise Information Research CEIR) at the University of Koblenz, Germany.

Dr. Scifleet’s research centers on the emerging socio-technical discourse now framing information and data governance at societal levels. He approaches his research from the interpretative traditions of digital documentary practice and applies expertise in policy analysis, digital ethnography, and content analysis to inform research into the social, organizational, and technological dimensions of the digital economy.

Dr. Scifleet is collaborating with CEIR on a number of shared research projects investigating information governance in business and e-government contexts. With joint research focussing on the impacts of changing information management practice at the “edge of systems”, for example, at the boundaries of information sharing: between networks, enterprises, formal and informal systems, and assets (data, documents, information, records, and memory)
