Restoration of an urban pond-stream system

In this research project, we analyse whether the interaction between ponds and stream reaches can be changed by ensuring a macrophyte-rich state in the urban ponds and whether this will increase the ecological quality of the stream. The research cooperation with the city of Darmstadt is a great chance to study this question under real world conditions over a long time period.
