At the University of Koblenz, you can attend language courses for free (visit our Skills Academy for registration).

The courses take place regularly 1-2 times a week at campus or digitally.

Please note that the course language usually is German.

We offer the following courses:

• Arabic (level A1)

• German as a foreign language (A1-C1)

• English (B2/C1): Refresher courses, Focus on Pronunciation (tutorial), Grammar Refresher (tutorial), Conversation Starter (tutorial)

• French (A1)

• Norwegian (A1)

• Portuguese (A1)

• Russian (A1)

• Spanish (A1-A2)

• Ukrainian (A1)

• German Sign Language

• Latin

• Old Greek

Learning languages independently or in a group can make sense, e.g. when there are no appropriate language courses available.
Learning languages independently has many advantages:

• You have the freedom of determining your learning rate.

• You decide which topics and domains interest you.

• You choose your learning material independently.

• You study when and with whom you want to.

However, this can cause insecurities. We are here to help you! We offer:

• assistance in structuring your learning process, formulating your learning goals, and with your self-assessment (learning organization)

• getting in contact with native speakers (tandem program)

• getting in contact with other students (study group)

• counselling
