- Intersectionality and heterogeneity
- Sociological, pedagogical, social/educational policy perspectives on inclusion/exclusion
- Interfaces (problems) and transitions between (educational) institutions and support/assistance systems (child and youth welfare, integration assistance, psychological/psychiatric assistance system, care)
- Qualitative social research, in particular discourse research
- Participation and (political) self-representation in the field of tension between social movements, organisations of (self-)representation of interests and pedagogical professionalism
