Admission test in the subject, discipline of sport


General information for the admission test at the University of Koblenz.

Before you take up a degree course in the subject, discipline of sports science, you must prove your aptitude for sports motor skills!

General information for admission to studies in the winter semester 2025-2026

Dates and deadlines:

The sports aptitude test is expected to take place at the beginning of April. Further information on registration and online registration will follow.

The application deadline for the Sports Science program is July 15, 2025 (see here).

Registration for the sports aptitude test

  • Registration for the examination is only complete if the application is submitted in due time and form in combination with the receipt of the examination fee and the corresponding proof (see "General information" above).
  • The examination fee is also due if the applicant does not appear on the main date.
  • The administrative fee cannot be refunded if the applicant does not attend the admission test.
  • The fee for the recognition of an external sports entrance examination is € 20 and is due upon registration.
  • The examination fee of € 28.00 is to be transferred to the following bank account of the Landeshochschulkasse:

IMPORTANT:

The purpose (Intended use) of use and the name of the participant are urgently required!!!!

If you are unable to attend the aptitude test at short notice, you do not need to cancel your registration. No refunds will be made in the event of incorrect registration or non-participation.

Please bring a valid identity card to the admission test!


Recognition

Sports aptitude tests that have been successfully completed at another university are recognized, provided they are not older than two years. For example, admission tests are also held at the universities in Kaiserslautern and Mainz.

Exam content

Requirements

30 m - sprint run

(without starting block)

One attempt. Women: maximum 5.3 s │ Men: maximum 4.7 s

3000 m - Run

One attempt. Women: 15:30 min. (cut-off time**: 16:00 min.) │ Men: 13:00 min. (cut-off time**: 13:30 min.)

100 m - swimming

One attempt. Women: 2:05 min. (cut-off time**: 2:10 min.) │ Men: 1:55 min. (cut-off time**: 2:00 min.)

Swimming in the following sections:

25 m pool: start from the block - 15 m dive - 35 m breaststroke - 25 m backstroke - 25 m crawl swim

16 m pool: start from the block - 1 lane diving - 2 lanes breaststroke - 1 lane backstroke - 2 lanes crawl swim

Bench press

Two attempts. Women: 60% of own body weight│ Men: 80% of own body weight

Bench press a dumbbell from a momentary resting position on the sternum upwards until the arms are extended.

Jump test

Three attempts. Women: 30 cm │ Men: 38 cm

Measurement of the jump height using the counter movement jump (CMJ) on a force plate. Two-legged vertical jump WITHOUT arm swing (hands resting on the waist).

Apparatus gymnastics

Two attempts. Men and women: Tutorial on overhead high bar or higher.

Hip upswing forwards backwards; hip turn forwards backwards; under-bar swing.

The under-hip swing is performed over a hip-high bar or a hip-high rope at any distance from the high bar, which must not be touched. It can be performed either from a hip turn from left to right or after a lower jump with a one-legged or two-legged push-off.

Football

Duration: approx. 5 min.

Team game 4 against 4 with the aim that the ball is guided into the opponent's target zone by the attacking team or received there by a player. Basketball court with target zone last 5 m in front of the baseline.

Basketball

Duration: approx. 5 min.

Team game 4 against 4 with the aim that the ball is guided into the opponent's target zone by the attacking team or caught there by a player. Basketball court with target zone last 5 m in front of the baseline.

Volleyball

Duration: approx. 5 min.

Team game 4 against 4 without serve.
