International Mentoring Programme at the University of Koblenz

To ensure that your transition to university life is as seamless and enjoyable as possible, we would like to introduce you to our International Mentoring Programme. This programme is designed to provide you with the guidance and support you need during your first days at our university. Here are the key points of the programme: 

Personalised Support
Each new international student, i.e. mentee, is paired with a mentor who serves as the first point of contact for any questions or concerns.

Administrative Assistance on campus and in the city
The mentor will assist you in navigating the different university tools and services, helping you make the most of your academic resources. Additionally, your mentor will support you during visits to important institutions, such as the Foreigners’ Office (Ausländerbehörde in German), banks, and the city registration office.

Excursions and Cultural Integration
Your mentor will organise and/or accompany various excursions and activities, allowing you to explore the local area and experience German culture. This is also a chance to meet other international and German (!) students and build connections.

Social Integration
Starting a new life far away from your loved ones can be very challenging and overwhelming. Having someone to turn to who has been through a similar situation can be very helpful and emotionally supportive.
The programme also provides opportunities to expand your network and make new friends. Through the support of your mentor and interactions with fellow international and local students, you will be able to build relationships that can last long after your time in Koblenz.
