XAPS: EXplainable AI for automated Production Systems

The goal of the XAPS project is to bring approaches for the explainability and transparency of ML- and AI-based techniques in the application context of Automated Production Systems (aPS) to practical use. This will not only provide users of these techniques with practical information on how to deal with the results of ML-based analysis, but the information provided will also provide the basis for an assessment of the reliability of the result, as well as a tool for answering the question of whether the relationships found by ML-based analysis are merely correlations, or can be attributed to a causal relationship, which is of key importance for the generalization of the results.
