The Department Council advises and decides on matters of fundamental importance to the department. The first Council of the Department 4: Computer Science at the new Koblenz University was elected for the legislative period 2023 to 2025.
Once a doctoral candidate has completed his or her dissertation, he or she submits it to the doctoral committee of the Department of Computer Science, which reviews the dissertation and decides whether the doctoral candidate may use the title "Dr.".
This examination board is responsible for all examination matters of the B.Sc. (except Computational Social Science) and M.Sc. degree programmes of the Department of Computer Science.
The committee for Studies and Teaching of the Department of Computer Science is particularly concerned with the issues of study objectives, forms and structures, ensuring the range of courses and the organisation of teaching, as well as quality assurance.
The library committee of the Department of Computer Science decides on the budget allocation of the department with regard to the acquisition of literature and is in close contact with the library administration.
The senate and the departmental council may appoint representatives for specific tasks.
