This course consists of a lecture (2 SWS) and a seminar (2 SWS). It is held in English.

Organisational Issues

  • Kick-off meeting for lecture and seminar: 15th April 2025, 16 - 20 c.t.

  • Target audience: Master of E-Government, Digital Business Management, Information Systems, Web and Data Science in the first year

  • Description of the module, including workload: see MoMa: 04WI2010

  • Language of the lecture and exercise: English

  • Examinations: seminar works (4 weeks) and presentations

  • Registration to the lecture via Klips

  • All materials and slides for the lecture and exercises will be provided via the OpenOLAT e-learning platform

Objectives of the Module

Students, who have successfully passed this module, are equipped with the following competencies:

  • Students can describe the domain of E-Participation and separate E-Participation from E-Government and other related fields.
  • Students have knowledge about theories and methods of E-Participation.
  • Students are knowledgeable about tools and technologies used in E-Participation and they are capable of selecting the best suitable E-Participation instruments for a given participatory endeavour.
  • Students are able to apply a structured engineering approach to plan, analyze and design E-Participation projects.
  • Students are familiar with E-Participation initiatives and are able to categorize and assess these cases along methods used, tools and technologies deployed, success of the project and impact generated.
  • Students know key success criteria, different evaluation methods, and how successful current and past E-Participation projects are/were.
  • Students can estimate the impact and value-add of E-Participation.
